She’s finally here! Blake returned from Ohio late last Friday with our new puppy. For about 24 hours, we called her “Puppy”. We finally named her Shelby on Saturday afternoon, after the Shelby Mustang. Shelby has been here about a week and is settling in well - she pretty much runs this household right now! She is popular with the neighbors and someone stops to ask what kind of dog she is and to play with her at least once a day.

She has perfected the art of chasing her tail, enjoys her Monster toy and rope bone, and is an expert food beggar. She likes to play right next to you, sometimes even right in your lap and she loves to cuddle. Blake and I really love her and although it was a long wait - I’m happy she is finally here! She will probably get her own photo gallery soon, but for now here are a few pics.

Last week Blake and I and our friends John and Zach left the USA for adventures in Mexico. I had a fabulous time. I can’t believe I waited so long to take a real vacation! Although my Spanish didn’t improve at all and my tan is already fading, the 6 days and 5 nights of pure laziness on the beach were exactly what we all needed. My parents asked what all we did while we were there. Blake and I thought for awhile, and honestly couldn’t come up with anything of significance! We spent a lot of time just enjoying the views and not having to answer phones or e-mails. It was perfect!
